The new IPS SHADOW tracking system is a vehicle mounted target tracking system designed to enable a target transmitter to be tracked and located in a wide variety of conditions ranging from dense city to suburban and open country areas. A small transmitter is attached to the target vehicle and the SHADOW Tracking System is fitted to a vehicle. The Receive & Display Unit indicates the direction of the target transmitter, relative to the vehicle, on a circular display. The display used, as well as giving the bearing of the target , also shows the confidence of that bearing. This enables the targets to be tracked through conditions of a city centre, conditions where normally radio reflections and multipath render radio direction finding useless. |
